Choline acetyltransferase and nitric oxide synthase immunoreactivities in the inner submucosal plexus of the ascending porcine colon are mapped onto the pig colon scaffold.
Study Purpose: The goal of this work is to map choline acetyltransferase and nitric oxide synthase immunoreactivities data in the inner submucosal plexus of the ascending porcine colon to an annotated generic pig colon scaffold.
Data Collection: The pig colon generic scaffold is created based on the general description and average dimensions of pig colons as measured by Tache et al. Enteric neurons in the inner submucous plexus of the pig ascending colon with the HuC/D, choline acetyltransferase (ChAT), and neuronal nitric oxide synthase (nNOS) neuronal markers are imaged in wholemount preparations with multiple labeling immunofluorescences. The data was derived from the original dataset.
Primary Conclusion: None stated
Curator's Notes
Experimental Design: Not applicable.
Completeness: Complete.
Subjects & Samples: The original data from two young adult male Yucatan pigs (RRID:NSRRC_0012), 25 - 30 kilograms, were mapped for this study.
Primary vs derivative data: The primary folder contains the mapping tool provenance data file needed to produce the scaffold map. The mapping tool will be accessible from the release download page on the SPARC Portal. The derivative folder contains JSON files which are used to generate a visualization of the scaffold map on the web portal.
