Dataset Overview

Study Purpose: The objective for this tutorial is to project the spatial locations of 3 different types of neurites on the surface of the rat stomach onto a 3D scaffold of the organ. The experimental data and 3D scaffold are downloaded from the SPARC portal and SPARC Scaffold Mapping Tools, respectively.

Data Collection: 2D anatomical data of the rat stomach are downloaded from the SPARC Portal.

Primary Conclusion: Different DRC resources (anatomical data, organ scaffolds, Scaffold Mapping Tools) can be used to better understand organs’ anatomy.

Curator's Notes

Experimental Design: This is the computational dataset. In this project, we have created an online tutorial hub to guide users within and outside the SPARC community on how to combine tools within the SPARC ecosystem to create unified workflows. We have populated our hub with a tutorial on mapping 2D spatial data to a 3D scaffold. This project was developed during the 2022 SPARC FAIR Codeathon. More detailed information about the project is available here

Completeness: This dataset is complete.

Subjects & Samples: This is a computational dataset; thus no subjects are described.

Primary vs derivative data: Not applicable. This is a computational study. Only a configuration file to view and run the simulation on the oSPARC platform is provided.
