This dataset captures a simple blood volume control FC map, consisting of the mathematical model, simulation protocols, and visual maps for use on the SPARC Portal.

Study Purpose: This dataset contains a SPARC Functional Connectivity (FC) map (https://docs.sparc.science/docs/functional-connectivity-map). An FC map represents a well defined collection of physiology (i.e., function) and includes one or more simulation experiments enabling exploration of key aspects of the physiology combined with visual representation(s) presented as interactive flatmaps (https://docs.sparc.science/docs/flatmaps). Simulation experiments can be explored using the simulation viewer (https://docs.sparc.science/docs/simulation-viewer-overview).
The FC map contained in this dataset represents a simple model of the control of whole-body blood volume by sodium. As shown in the flatmap, the underlying mathematical model consists of three compartments (GI, kidney, and circulation system) and the simulation experiments enable the exploration of the impact of sodium transport processes, and other physiological parameters, on the arterial and venous blood volumes and pressures.
Data Collection: This FC Map is derived from the model presented in the Physiome Model Repository at https://models.physiomeproject.org/e/d77. For detailed information on the mathematical model, please refer to that documentation and specifically the models encoded in the CellML format. The code folder contains an archive of the source git repository of this FC map (https://models.physiomeproject.org/workspace/c99/@@file/95833578539af26a91931d4819f5ca9836ba52d5/, tag: v2.0.2), which corresponds to the version presented at https://models.physiomeproject.org/e/d77.
Primary Conclusions: None stated.
